The Collector’s office is aware of how much of a hardship the new sewer rates will be for many taxpayers. Our office is doing everything we are able to do to minimize the impact of the rate change. Be aware that, while we have no formal payment plan, we do accept partial payments for sewer tax bills.

You may notice on the most recent sewer bill the mention of interest and late fees being delayed until 11/15/2026. The Collector’s office, with the Town Manager, submitted a proposal to the Sewer Commission to further delay the onset of interest and late fees through 6/30/2027, which was approved. This means that any FY2027 sewer tax bills will not begin to accrue late fees or interest until 7/1/2027.

Additionally, the ‘Sewer Bill Description’ box on the most recent cycle of sewer bills does not properly reflect the newly set per unit rate. You may notice your bill still shows the previous rate of $282.00 as the per unit rate. This is an error we are aware of and it has been corrected. Our software provider who generate our bills was not able to have this corrected for us within the threshold we had to mail out the sewer tax bills, but it has since been resolved.
