Historical Commission

The Dalton Historical Commission is dedicated to preserving Dalton’s rich history. The Commission’s goal is to protect and preserve the historic, cultural, and environmental features that are important components of Dalton’s heritage.

The Commission collects and preserves both information and physical items of Dalton history, and accepts donations of historic nature for our collection of Dalton artifacts. Photos of Dalton’s past are especially treasured.

The Commission consists of 7 members and 10 associate members. Members are appointed by the Select Board for 3-year terms. Current members are in the Appointed Officers (link to mytown.gov) list maintained by Town Clerk’s office.

Meetings: 1st Wednesday of each month at 1 PM at Dalton Senior Center.  If you have an interest in Dalton History please feel free to join us, as we always welcome visitors and those who would like to become new members.
