The Dalton Police Department is located in the basement of the Town Hall on Main Street. It has its own entrance around the corner on South Carson Avenue.
Administrative offices are open Monday through Friday. However, the department operates 24 hours a day, and anyone with a problem or question can reach an officer by calling the business line at 413-684-0300.

Firearms Licensing Processing
The Dalton Police Department is processing License to Carry or Firearm Identification Card applications and renewals by appointment only.
Please contact 413 – 684 – 0300 to schedule an appointment. Appointments are scheduled at the convenience of the Executive Assistant.
For first time applicants:
Please bring the completed application, copy of your safety certification, and a check/money order for $100 made payable to the Town of Dalton.
Please bring a check/money order for $100 made payable to the Town of Dalton. No application is needed for renewals.
