Assistant Town Clerk

The Town of Dalton is seeking an organized, customer-focused, and highly motivated professional to serve as Assistant Town Clerk. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the daily operations of local government while serving residents directly in one of the Town’s most visible and essential offices.

As Assistant Town Clerk, you will help manage vital records, support elections and Town Meetings, assist residents and businesses, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of important municipal records. Every day brings a new challenge and an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community.

Full-time position; 36 hours per week, with benefits. Starting salary $20-$22 per hour. Qualifications include a High School Diploma (Associate’s or higher degree preferable); 2 years of office or municipal experience preferred; the ability to become a Notary Public; proficiency with Microsoft Office and general office technology. Must successfully pass CORI.

HIGHWAY/ CEMETERY/ PARKS SEASONAL LABORER POSITION

Assists in work related to the Highway and Cemetery Departments. Performs all other related work as required.

A multi task position that will primarily operate skillfully, efficiently, and safely all equipment in the Highway and Cemetery Departments. Including but not limited to back hoe, front end loader, road grader, heavy and light trucks, lawn mowers, weed whackers, jack hammers, and catch basin cleaners. Starting salary $16.42 per hour, rising in July of 2026. Recommended minimum qualifications include: Class D License. Must be able to demonstrate the skill to operate public works equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Requires knowledge of lawn mowers, weed whacking, and small hand tools.
