SEASONAL LABORERS
Immediate opening for Seasonal laborers for the Dalton Highway/Cemetery/ Parks Department. No benefits. Must be able to operate one-ton dump truck. 40 hours/week, Mon. – Fri., 7:00 a.m.- 3:30 p.m.

FULL TIME EQUIPMENT MECHANIC
Full time Equipment Mechanic, minimum of a High School diploma, and five years of experience/training in public works equipment maintenance required. A Class B CDL license, airbrake endorsement and Hoisting License, preferred. Minimum 2A & 3B restriction must be obtained with a reasonable amount of time after employment. Starting salary $21.57 per hour, with an increase to $23.57 after six-month probationary period. Benefits include health/life insurance, pension, paid holidays, sick days and vacations.

VAN DRIVER
The Dalton Council on Aging is currently seeking a part-time van driver for our transportation program serving seniors and disabled persons. The candidate must have a valid driver’s license, excellent driving record and a gentle demeanor. Candidates must attend mandatory trainings and submit to, and pass, a Cori background check. Applications will be accepted at the Dalton Senior Center, 40 Field Street Ext., Dalton MA 01226 or the Town Hall through April 20th.
RESERVE DISPATCHER(s) – 911 COMMUNICATIONS CENTER
The Town of Dalton anticipates the need for Reserve Dispatchers to work on call for various shifts. Starting salary is $14.76 per hour, $15.20 after six months.
Dispatchers answer incoming calls and requests for service; dispatch appropriate personnel to calls, as required; coordinate back‑up support activities via radio; determine priorities among calls; monitor the radio system; perform registration, license and criminal checks. Operate LEAPS computer terminal to obtain or input information on persons, property, and vehicles in nationwide law enforcement network. Position requires ongoing contact with the general public, town departments and emergency personnel requiring excellent customer service skills.
High school diploma and general office experience required. The successful applicant(s) will be required to obtain E‑9‑1‑1, LEAPS, & EMD Certifications.

TOWN PLANNER
Professional community planning and development technical and administrative work in assisting several town boards in reviewing and evaluating specific projects, as well as developing planning approaches and community development projects to stimulate and assist the growth and development in the Town; all other work as required.
Performs complex administrative, community development and planning activities, using comprehensive knowledge of specialized planning and development procedures and requiring independent judgment in analyzing facts or circumstances regarding specific planning or development issues. Applies technical expertise and standard professional techniques to solve problems in terms of the Town’s rules, regulations and laws.
Education, Training and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Community Planning or related field, and five years of experience as a Town Planner or related municipal experience or Master’s degree and two years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Recording Secretary
Record and transcribe minutes for various boards, committees and commissions of the Town of Dalton, including, but not limited to, Planning Board, Traffic Commission, Finance Committee, Conservation Commission, Stormwater Management Commission, Dalton Green Committee etc. Salary is $52.66 per 2 and ½ hour meeting plus $11.26for each additional ½ hour over 2 ½ hours. Office work $15.01 per hour, no benefits, High School Diploma and general office experience required.
Assistant Town Collector
The Assistant Town Collector performs office and financial administrative support work for the Town Collector’s office, assisting in the collection of all billed revenue due and owing to the town; other related work, as required.
