Recording Secretary

Record and transcribe minutes for various boards, committees and commissions of the Town of Dalton, including, but not limited to, Planning Board, Traffic Commission, Finance Committee, Conservation Commission, Stormwater Management Commission, Dalton Green Committee etc. Salary is $52.66 per 2 and ½ hour meeting plus $11.26for each additional ½ hour over 2 ½ hours. Town Manager

Dalton, MA (6,358 pop.), is seeking a Town Manager who is an experienced, energetic, and collaborative leader with strong financial, communications, labor relations, economic development, grant writing and grant management skills. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in public administration, and at least five years of full-time compensated executive service in public or business administration.

Police Chief

The Town of Dalton, MA (pop. 6,358), is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Police Chief. Applicants must possess the advanced knowledge, skills, ability and progressive experience necessary to serve as the town’s chief law enforcement officer and administrator of the police department. Ideal candidate should be energetic have excellent communication, management & labor relations skills, and community policing orientation. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related discipline and seven years of progressively responsible experience or preferably a master’s degree in public administration, criminal justice or related field; and five years of progressively responsible experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Command experience at the level of sergeant or above within Massachusetts, and Massachusetts Police Academy training is preferred.  Salary, negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.  Send resume, with references and a letter of interest to Robert W. Principal Assessor

Dalton is seeking qualified applicants for the position of   Principal Assessor. The Principal Assessor is responsible for appraising and assessing the value of all real and personal property, processing abatements and exemptions, and all related record keeping.
