Position: Laborer for various sections of Departments Locations: Dalton Highway, Cemetery and Parks Departments
Reports To: Department Superintendent and/or Foreman
Position Status: Seasonal, 40 hours per week. Monday— Friday 7 am — 3:30 pm. No benefits.
1- General landscaping maintenance for Town’s cemeteries and parks. (lawn mowing, weed whacking, trim shrubs, dig holes, loam and seed graves and ball fields, etc…)
2- Manual lifting required, be able to enter and exit graves (6 ft.), able to operate small landscaping machines for long periods of time.
3- Be in generally good physical condition. A pre-employment physical is required.
4- Be able to perform small repairs and maintenance on equipment and buildings in Department and other miscellaneous jobs that are necessary to maintain the infrastructure of the Highway — Cemetery — Parks Department.
Full time Equipment Mechanic, minimum of a High School diploma, and five years of experience/training in public works equipment maintenance required, with a current Class B CDL license, airbrake endorsement and Hoisting License, minimum 2A & 3B restriction. Starting salary $20.66 per hour, with an increase to $22.66 after six month probationary period. Benefits include health/life insurance, pension, paid holidays, sick days and vacations.
Building & Grounds Assistant
Position open until filled
Full-time benefited position including health insurance, pension and paid leave. Starting Salary $12.73 per hour rising to $14.19 per hour after 6 months.
High School diploma, motor vehicle license, two to three years’ experience in the maintenance, cleaning, and general repair of buildings and snow plowing desirable; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
