Principal Assessor

The Town of Dalton is seeking an experienced professional to serve as Principal Assessor. This is an 18-hour per week, unbenefited position at the rate of $29.61 to $35.82/hr. depending on experience.

The Principal Assessor reports to the Town Manager and supervises an Assessor and an Assessing Clerk/Assessor in all assessing duties. Among other duties, the Principal Assessor coordinates varied assessing responsibilities with the Assessing third party contractor, and ensures various contractual obligations are being addressed; analyzes, enters, and maintains all legal files in the real estate database while comparing documents against the tax maps for accuracy; evaluates all Chapter land applications to assure that they meet the requirements for entry or continuance in the programs; updates files in the database and prepares/amends liens for recording where necessary; determines applicability for tax exempt status; composes the Annual Town Report for Assessing and maintains and updates the Assessor’s webpage; and prepares and oversees payroll, office vouchers and prepares and maintains the Assessing budget. Equipment Operator

The Town of Dalton has a full-time opening for an Equipment Operator in the Department of Public Works. Duties include operating equipment involving the construction, repairing, cleaning and maintaining of Town roads, cemeteries, parks, sewer and drainage systems and the maintenance of vehicles and equipment.

Requirements include high school diploma or equivalent, five years’ experience in road construction and maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid Class B CDL Driver’s License with an air brake endorsement and a 2A and 4G Hoisting License.

Starting salary ranges from $22.22-$23.81 per hour, depending on qualifications. Click HERE to view the full job description.

Part-time Van Driver

The Dalton Council on Aging is currently seeking a part-time van driver for our transportation program serving seniors and disabled, ranging from 4-19 hours per week. The candidate must have a valid driver’s license, excellent driving record and a gentle demeanor. Experience operating a chair lift system is preferred. Must submit a CORI waiver and pass a background check. Starting salary is $15.50 per hour.
